The Beach Music Journal

My family had a beach home on the Potomac River, a place called Fairview Beach. We spent the whole summer there.

There was a pier and restaurant that had dances every Friday, Saturday and Sunday. They had a lot of local groups that played Beach Music. The famous Steve Jarrell played wsith another group at that time; he lived at the beach, too, at one point.

We had some wonderful times dancing and acting crazy in the good old days.

We used to also go to Virginia Beach on weekends to hear Bill Deal and the Rhondels whom we still see occasionally near Fredericksburg.
