Beach Beat Vol. # 1 (Atlantic Records)

I was a freshman at Campbell College (now University) and my roommate was from Mullins, SC. She had one of the Beach Beat albums and played it constantly. I HATED "Idol with a Golden Head" but loved most everything else. This was in 1969.

I learned that this was Beach Music--which I would have thought was music by the Beach Boys!

Anyway, that roommate did not return the next year as she got married to a fellow Campbell Camel. Turns out many years later they divorced and a few years later he and I reconnected and we got married.

I always say I'd like to thank her for introducing me to my two great loves--Dan and Beach Music!

Special Beach Song/Dedication: "60 Minute Man" to my lovin' Dan O'Brien

Fave Band: Embers

Hangout: Ember's Club, Raleigh, NC
